Can I exchange my Danish cash for foreign currency?
No. You can only exchange the banknotes for Danish kroner.
Private individuals can exchange kr. 5,000 for new banknotes. If you hand in more than kr. 5,000 the money will be transferred to your bank account in Danish kroner by Danmarks Nationalbank.
If you are a company, the value of the banknotes will always be transferred to your company bank account.
Please note that Danmarks Nationalbank will always transfer the exchanged amount 1 to 1 in Danish kroner, which will appear in the transfer text on the recipient's bank account. When transferring to a foreign account, the amount will be converted to a currency that your bank can accept. This exchange may involve fees, which you are eligible for paying.
